Our first featured football camp for the 2010 season is
not a new one at all, but rather a "Camp with a
cause" that we first reported on about
five or six years ago - Lauren's First and Goal Camp. Held
each year in June, Laurenīs First and Goal Football Camp is a one-day, non-contact camp for any student-athlete entering grades 9-12. Participants receive instruction in a variety of offensive and defensive skills from volunteer college coaches from around the country.
This year's camp, the seventh annual Laurenīs First and Goal Football Camp, will be held on Sunday, June 6 at Lafayette Collegeīs Metzgar Athletics Complex in Easton, Pa. Participants may register online or download a registration form
from the LFG web site. We were not surprised on a recent visit to read about the continued growth and success of this camp, including the establishment of
an additional camp location in
Ohio.

Laurenīs First and Goal is a 501(c)3 charitable organization, a labor of love started in 2004 by John and Marianne Loose in honor of their daughter, Lauren, a 13-year-old pediatric brain tumor survivor. The Loose family started the foundation as a way to help other families who are battling childhood cancer.
Since its inception, LFG has raised more than $800,000 toward its mission to provide financial support for brain tumor research and cancer services, to offer financial and emotional support to families living with pediatric cancer, and to increase awareness of the disease. These goals are made possible through the funding gained through LFG Football Camp and charitable contributions.
Congratulations to the dedicated staff and coaches
who donate their time and talents each year to make
Lauren's First and Goal a success !
