Founded in 1991, PenSport, Inc. was a
leading
developer of computer software for professional, college, and
scholastic
sports teams. PenSport's real-time game charting applications
were among the first to utilize a pen for input rather than a keyboard or mouse.
With the arrival of Windows Vista in 2007, PenSport licensed
its Athletic Equipment Inventory software - The Pensport Equipment Manager
to CompuSports for further development. The
result was the introduction of Athletic Equipment
Manager, a Windows Vista-compatible
version that was based on the Pensport Equipment
Manager. Athletic Equipment Manager introduced a new
design with a modern look and feel without
compromising the
time-tested functionality that was
included in the PenSport product. Now in its
second generation, Athletic Equipment Manager runs
on all versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7. PenSport
continued to distribute and support its Playmaster line
of football playbook software for a short time, but
as Windows XP gave way to Windows 7, product sales
and support were suspended. Playmaster users
who need to install Playmaster on newer computers
running Windows 7, can do so by installing it under
Windows 7's Windows XP Mode, and its now possible to
preserve Playmaster playbooks in a number of digital
formats, including Adobe PDF.
